Adopt a Tabby (short coat)

Tabby (short coat) Cat

George the Cat needs a home

FIV+

George is an old feller but he looks younger than his 12 to 14 years.  His owner moved out of the country so he came to Colony Cats.  He's currently residing in our FIV+ Room at the adoption center.  This guy needs a loving person to spoil him at his advanced age.  FIV+. Feline Immunodeficiency Virus positive cats can live normal lives both in quality and duration. They do take special care in terms of monitoring them for signs of infection.  FIV can be passed from cat to cat via deep bite wounds, but not from casual contact so positive cats can live with negative cats without the fear of spreading FIV as long as they get along and are spayed/neutered. For more information on FIV - check out this link:  http://bestfriends.org/resources/fiv-cats-faqs-feline-immunodeficiency-virus-information  George is neutered, microchipped, FL negative and up to date on vaccines.

**If interested in adopting him, please fill out an online adoption application at http://colonycats.org/adoption_app.html to expedite the process.  Due to the large number of inquiries received, we are unable to respond to emails quickly.**
