Adopt a Labrador Retriever / Mixed

Labrador Retriever / Mixed Dog

Marty D3575 the Dog needs a home

Hi, my name is Marty.  I am male Chocolate Lab Mix (Maybe some Hound as well)   DOB 12/21/04  and 65 lbs.  I am originally from Cabot, Arkansas and could not wait to get up here to Minnesota. Plus,
I have just completed my heartworm treatment therefore; I am ready to find my new home.
The vet thinks I am more 10 - 11 years in age due to my spunkiness energy around the yard and I have no signs of arthritis as well.  Due to the heartworm disease; I am underweight so m
y foster mom said I need to eat more to get my manly figure back.  She thinks my ideal weight should be around 70 lbs.
There are advantages of being an older dog, I already am potty trained, crate trained (I do have free roam of the house) I am a non-destructive chewer and only play with doggie toys.  Did I mention I love food?  I’m food motived so much so, I’m a counter surfer.  My foster mom is teaching me NOT to jump on the counters as that is not what a gentlemen does.  I do not jump on people and I do enjoy looking out the window from time to time.
I do tend to get excited when I hear or see someone; I bark and howl to get their attention so, it’s best that I live in a home with no shared walls.
Do you have pesky squirrels in your yard?  No problem, I’ll chase them up the tree and out of the yard for you.  Sometimes I think cats are like squirrels and like to chase them, so I shouldn't live with cats.

I suppose you can say I am a well-mannered, large dog, wise in my doggie years and very calm, but still can play with the best of them.  I am good with dogs of all sizes.  My favorite thing to do is sit on the couch where we watch animal planet while you give me belly rubs and I fall asleep on your lap.  I enjoy playing fetch,  I can retrieve a tennis ball and drop it at your feet  (I’m good for about 3 -4 times chasing the ball then I’m tired).  My recall is pretty good as I come running when I’m called.  I love my doggie bed where I can nap all day until my foster mom comes home.  I enjoy walks; I do pull a little so my foster mom is teaching leash manners
I'm just so excited to see what my new neighborhood has to offer.
I do great on car rides too, I enjoy putting my head out of the window where the breeze flap through my jowls.  I eventually lay down and dream of my new family.   Overall, I am perfect companion for someone who wants a senior dog who still has some spunky energy.  Are you my fur ever home?
