Adopt a Caucasian Sheepdog (Caucasian Ovtcharka) / Great Pyrenees (long coat)
BOBBY the Dog needs a home
Meet BOBBY!
He is a Karakachan (aka Bulgarian Shepherd Dog). Please research this working breed. https://www.dogbreedinfo.com/bulgarianshepherddog.htm
This handsome guy is a very large (90 lbs.), athletic boy that loves to play. He is young (1 1/2 years old) and has not been trained; but, he may be one of the smartest dogs we have ever had and should be easy to train. He really loves his walks and learning about things but can pull very hard when excited (walks good with a prong collar).
BOBBY really loves people and likes to occasionally jump up and play rough. He seems to be fine with some big dogs but will not put up with a high energy, dominant dog. He generally wants to be the boss but does like to play with other medium/large size dogs. See youtube video. No small dogs and no cats.
See youtube of Bobby playing with Chuck. https://youtu.be/ZhglymhAPII
As with all LGD (livestock guardian dogs) BOBBY is very smart and will need a job or a lot of exercise and mental stimulation to make him happy and prevent problems.
BOBBY is a PAL favorite and we are looking for the perfect home. He will learn easily without being hit. He can be shy if he thinks you will hit him. BOBBY loves to please and is willing to share the title of "head of the house." BOBBY is with us because he loves people and wants to be a “people dog”; he will not guard sheep. For those of you that grew up with the Ferdinand the Bull story, he is the dog equivalent of Ferdinand.
