Too Much Sugar Ray the Cat needs a home
DOB: 3/17/2003
Too Much Sugar Ray is a big puddle of love. He adores being picked up and held and will purr in your arms, hugging you. He loves to sit on your lap and be petted, purring REALLY REALLY LOUD. He is the most affectionate cat we have ever met. Ray was doing great until his owner found out that he is diabetic so needs insulin shots. The needles are super small and Ray is the best patient ever. But his owner didn’t want to give shots, so told the vet to euthanize sweet Ray instead :(. Can you imagine your family wanting to have you killed just because you became diabetic? Neither could we - so we took Ray in to foster care. Ray gets along wonderfully with other cats and kittens, and just wants a place he can live out the rest of his years with love and care. He is vaccinated, deflead, dewormed, neutered, FeLV negative, microchipped, and missing most of his teeth. His insulin runs about $25 a month. For more information or to meet Too Much Sugar Ray, please contact his foster mom.
Ray has tested positive for FIV (feline AIDS). FIV is not a big deal; given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan as an FIV negative cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat, requiring direct blood contact (typically from a deep puncture wound). It is not transmissable to humans. Click here to read an excellent article about FIV.
