Dear YOU!
I'm Sassafrass, but my foster mom calls me Sassy cuz she says I'm one feisty little girl cat (which is a matter of opinion, I'm sure). Of course you've noticed my velvety black fur coat. It's new. I got it after I was rescued cuz my old fur mostly fell out. Stress, I guess. For a while there, I thought I might turn into one of those funny looking nekkid Sphinx kitties with no wardrobe. But then I got fluffy again. And I have fashion accessories, too: 24 carat gold (OK, sometimes green) eyes, a few pink toes, and sparkles - a sprinkle of white hairs on my neck. Very Coco Chanel, huh?
I live with my sisters, Laurel and Chipmunk, and my little brother Humphrey, but I'm in charge. I guard us from the top of the cat tree. Well, except when Laurel's up there playing tennis, which is another story altogether. I spend a lot of time at the windows spying on squirrels and chirping at birdies (I find that chirping is so much more terrifying than if I chatter at 'em). In my "down time" I really like chasing feathery and furry toys that I can shake and toss in the air, wack with my paws and hiss at. Actually, I have a pretty good vocabulary of trills, mips, chirps, hisses and stuff. Sometimes I just have to talk to things, you know?
My foster mom likes to cuddle and brush me (gotta keep the new fur coat snazzy) and I like that too, but I play hard-to-get & make her catch me first, which is one reason why she says I'm feisty.
She also says I should tell you about being a Special Needs Kitty, which I think is cuz before I go to my Furrrever Home I'm gonna ask for a pre-nup with my Special Needs. I haven't been sick a day in my life, but my sisters and brother and I all passed the feline leukemia test after we were rescued so we need to live with other Kitties who passed the test or else be Only Cats in our Furrrever Homes. We also need Lots of Love and Attention and Good Food from Very Special Purrrsons when we're adopted. It doesn't sound like a lot to ask, but I'm working on the pre-nup just in case. I'm putting the finishing touches on that, so you should plan to be here by then!
Love, Sassafrass (Sassy)
