Adopt a Pit Bull Terrier / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat)
Juliana the Dog needs a home
Anyone lucky enough to share their lives with this sweet, joyful girl will be incredibly blessed. Yes, she’s as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Juliana is a one-year old Pit Bull Terrier mix who weighs about 75 pounds. Our best educated guess is that she is Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier mix, but that’s just a guess. What we know for sure is that she is utterly wonderful. She’s not perfect - she still needs to work on some basic manners like not pulling on a leash and not jumping on people when she gets excited. And she needs to be convinced that chin nibbles are not standard kissing protocol. But she’s very smart and so eager to please and to learn. A basic obedience class and a minimal amount of follow up training in the home on a regular basis will make her just about perfect.
Juliana is good with other dogs. She is the official babysitter for the very small puppies in her foster home and is often seen laying on her back with a big smile on her face while an 8 pound puppy chews on her as she pretends she can’t escape. But like any self respecting girl, she has very clear personal boundaries, and doesn’t like strange adult dogs running up and getting in her face.
We’re suggesting that Juliana be placed in a home with no cats and no children under 6. Not because of any aggression issues! But when she was cat tested, she was intensely interested in playing with the cat and it ramped up her excitement to a level that most cats would not appreciate.
She loves children and is very sweet with them. But with her boundless energy (she is still technically a puppy !) she can easily knock down or overwhelm small children.
Juliana is a natural athlete with boundless energy who would love to be someone’s running partner. But at the end of the day, all she wants is to snuggle on the sofa with her special person. If you think you’re the right fit to be Juliana’s forever family, please fill out an interest form.

***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers and we require a home check for each of our adoptable pets prior to them going to their new homes, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family further than 60 miles from Charlotte is responsible for finding a representative of a rescue local to them that is willing to perform the home check. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as the application is approved.***
