If you are looking for the sweetest, most loving, happy to be alive dog, STOP LOOKING! You’ve found me. I’m Winston. I’m a country hound about 50 lbs and approx. 4 years old.

I was probably a hunting dog living in a pen before my foster Mom found me. I was running down a country road, hobbling and hungry. My foster Mom was on her way to run an emergency errand but knew she was going to look for me when she came back. It was only a few minutes later when she drove back down that road and she didn’t have to look far. I had made it to a big yard with lots of trees and I had laid down to rest because I couldn’t go on any farther. She took me to the vet and Remo’s Rescue stepped in to help me. With the help of wonderful people they fixed my skin diseases, intestinal parasites, and my malnourishment. The hobble was just from running for so long and on such rough roads and terrain. I’m a new man! I LOVE to be outdoors, sniffing and running (only to play now) is my dream. I’m learning to trust my fur-friends to share food with me. I used to have to gobble to survive. Now there is always plenty to go around and even some left over. Won’t you give me a forever home where I can just lay back and relax. We can go for long walks outside for fun and relaxation. All of our dogs are spayed/ neutered before adoption. Adult dogs have had their core vaccines---parvo, distemper, bordatella, and rabies, All dogs are tested and are heartworm negative.  In addition they have been de-wormed and kept on heartworm prevention and flea prevention while in foster care. Most dogs come with a micr-chip already implanted. Adoption fees range from 235.00- 275.00 depending on the dog. Many times the adoption fee does not even cover the cost of all of the vetting we have done for a dog.   In addition, some of our dogs are fostered in the South and come up once adopted---There is an additional transport fee for these dogs.  Please contact the person listed in the bio for more information on a particular dog. We are very careful in placing our dogs--and look for the best home for each dog--All of our dogs are fostered in private homes, with fosters who get to know the dogs and know the types of home that would be best for each dog.
