Adopt a Newfoundland Dog (long coat)

Meet Sadie! Goodness gracious is she gorgeous! Sadie is a 7 month old chocolate Newfoundland Puppy. Unlike many of the dogs we rescue, we actually know Sadie's whole history. Sadie was purchased from a "breeder" at 7 weeks old by a local woman who was still reeling from the loss of her husband. She has been in a loving home for the entirety of her 7 months here on earth. Sadly, as Sadie grows it became quickly evident that she needed more than this home could provide. Her mommy contacted us for help in finding Sadie the home she desperately deserves. So we picked her up and here she is in all her glory!  Sadie is an absolutely sweet natured, goofy, happy go lucky puppy! She is crate trained and for all intents and purposes housebroken. She is approx 75 lbs at only 7 months and will likely be 125-150 lbs full grown. Her paperwork from the "breeder" says she is a purebred Chocolate Newfoundland. It is evident that her previous owner unknowingly fell for the Amish puppy mill posing as a legitamate breeder. So who really knows how purely bred she is. And who really cares!! She is absolutely gorgeous and while its clear she is very much a Newfie girl, she doesnt have the drooly jowls or the future skin issues that come with Newfies, so she has the best of both worlds.  

Sadie Loves EVERYONE she meets, she doesnt have a mean bone in her whole body and she is polite and respectful with other dogs of all sizes. She does seem to like cats a little bit TOO much. She will chase them. She wants to play, play, PLAY!! and then when shes done playing she wants to cuddle up and be lazy like most newfies. She is very smart and learns quickly. But she is still a baby, and she has spent much of her young life crated or tethered to the furniture. She needs to RUN and JUMP and she needs a friend! Her energy is that of a puppy and she needs to get it out but afterwards she's a real couch potato. 

Sadie's ideal home would be a home with another young large breed dog who wants to play with her and/or with someone who is home alot, has the knowledge and time to continue teaching her and  has large breed puppy experience with a big fenced yard to run around in.  

Sadie is very well behaved but she is huge already and will likely double in size before shes finished growing. She does jump up when she is excited, like most puppies, she will need a strong person to teach her the rest of her manners as she continues to get bigger and bigger. But to the savvy doggy parent she will be no trouble at all. She learns quickly and wants to please. 

We do not require a fence to adopt from our rescue. We work on compatibility for the individual dog. Sadie WILL require certain criteria to be considered.

Please do NOT submit an application if you do not have: 

~Large breed puppy experience ( verifiable) 

~ A fenced in yard ( physical fence, NOT electric)

~Own your home 

~Time, energy, and space needed for an extra large breed puppy 

While we will gladly help you find another compatible dog, your application will NOT be considered for Sadie if you cannot meet the above criteria.
