*Although there are no long-term issues for Hobie, he is still shedding the Parvo virus. Hobie will not be able to visit pet stores, training facilities, or any other public areas that dogs frequent until after March 10th, as he may leave the virus behind, and puppies or unvaccinated adult dogs would be at risk.
Hobie would love to follow you around the house and keep you company.

2/13/18 Volunteer Feedback: Who doesn’t want to have a smiley, happy pup looking at you with adoring eyes. If that’s you, then Hobie is your man. Hobie walks like a dream on a leash and really has a nice demeanor after he gets a little exercise. He can be a bit jumpy and mouthy at first, but is very treat oriented so training him is really fun. I think a person that is willing to give him some regular exercise, nothing excessive and will spend a bit of time training him will have a such a fun, happy bonded partner.
1/2/18 Volunteer Feedback: Hobie came to the rescue fighting for his life, but he is happy as ever now! He is in good health but could stand to put on a few pounds.
Hobie is a pretty easy guy to have around. He's excited to see me when I first get home, he comes out of his kennel full of butt wiggles. He is extra happy when he has a fresh bone to chew on - so far that has been his favorite activity. He also enjoys cuddling on the couch and getting in a good nap while he is there. Hobie has had no accidents as long as I'm home to let him out.
Hobie has been friendly with all the people he has met. He is still a young dog that doesn't really know his own size.
Once Hobie is through his parvo stage, I would recommend going to some positive reinforcement training classes with him - he is still just a big playful pup, so needs some help with his manners, and responds best when there is a little reward in it for him. Training classes are also a great way to bond with a new dog.
Hobie didn't love the kennel at first but has shown a lot of improvement - he does pretty well now, but can be a little vocal about it at times. Hobie probably doesn't need to be kenneled once you trust him around your house, the few times he has been left out he has not bothered anything. He may have an accident if left too long, so it would be best to make sure he is doing well with his potty training before leaving him out.
Maybe all the attention he got while he was sick made him a diva - but Hobie has decided that he wants to be the only pet in the home. He is looking to be someone's one and only, but he promises he is worth it!
Hobie has already survived parvo to get his second chance at the good life - please consider giving him the home he deserves! Hobie will love you for it.
