Hi! My name is Maxx, but everyone calls me Diesel - including my foster moms. I am a big boy - coming in at about 80 pounds! - but that doesn't stop me from believing I'm a lap dog. Are you feeling like you need some extra cuddles? I'm your man. Do you want the other half of your couch filled? I'm the dog for you. My previous mom owned me for six years but had to give me up because I got in a Big disagreement with a cat. Because of that, I cannot be around cats. I cannot be around cats at all!
If you don't have a cat however, and are looking for a dog who likes to chill, I would love to come home with you. I know sit, stay, come, shake, my name, and how to walk on a leash. I do great with being left at home alone and am so very excited when my people come home. One of my foster moms is teaching me how to skijor - it turns out I also love being outside! I get along great with other dogs and kids, and would love to meet you. Being given up by your mom of six years is hard and confusing, but I am a people lover and want a home that lasts forever.

All Ruff Start dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention (dogs) as well as heartworm tested (dogs).
Ruff Start Rescue is a foster based rescue. Animals are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a facility where animals are kept.
