Description:
“Real courage is when you know you’re licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what.” – from Harper Lee, famous author of To Kill A Mockingbird
This quote sums up the life of 13 month old Harper Lee, so far. Sweet Harper is one hundred percent puppy but if this playful girl could speak she would say, “Pay attention to me!”
Even though she is just slightly over a year old, Harper has spent the majority of her life outdoors. There wasn’t socialization, puppy and me classes to attend, or much attention paid to this precious young collie.
Harper needs someone to step up. Someone who is willing to be the owner she yearns for. Obedience training is something the foster would love to see Harper be enrolled in. She also thinks she could be great at agility and fly ball. Harper can be a bit timid and fearful, but she is gaining confidence day by day. One of the things helping Harper is the fact that she is now living indoors with multiple dogs at her foster home. She would do great in a home that has a canine playmate to keep her company. Due to her young boisterous personality living with an older dog is not recommended.
There are no cats in her current household so it is unknown how she would react to them. Harper would also do best in a house with older children. She is crate trained, a work in progress with being house broken, and at a beginner level with walking on leash.
When asked to describe Harper in one word her foster said PERKY. She also added that she wanted potential adopters to know how affectionate this delightful young collie is. Harper loves to give kisses! If you look at her photo you can see her displaying her love and joy to her foster. Life is so good now! All Harper is waiting on is for someone who sees her through no matter what.
