Adopt a Terrier / Mixed

DOB: September, 2012  |||  BREED/COLORING:  Basenji/Terrier Mix; Red  |||  SIZE: Astoria weighs about 18lbs and is full grown.  ||| HISTORY:  Astoria came to us through a good samaritan who had rescued her from nearly being hit by a car. The good samaritan spent a month looking for the owner and helped make sure she was healthy. After having her for a month this good samaritan reached out to us asking for our help in finding her a forever home. Astoria was born with one of her eyes not fully developed. Her eye does not require any medical intervention - it is just useless for sight. |||  PERSONALITY: Lina is very sweet and loving. She is young and playful – and her breed is very willful and smart. |||  TRAINING: Astoria has no previous training experience that is known. We are working on her housebreaking and she has done pretty well.  |||  WOULD DO BEST:  Astoria would like a home where she can go on walks and sit on laps. She would probably prefer not to be with very young children… and she’d probably also prefer to be an only-dog. She would do well in an apartment situation. ||| CATS/DOGS/KIDS: Astoria is NOT a dog park dog. She can be very Alpha with other dogs (some dogs she is okay with – mostly larger males). She is not recommended for homes with cats or children under about 10 years old since she tends to be a “door darter.”  |||  VET RECORD: All of our dogs are currently vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption.  |||  AVAILABILITY: This dog is available for adoption now and is being fostered or kenneled in the San Fernando Valley area.
