DOG'S DESCRIPTION

Mom and daughter duo, Bonnie and Belle, were dropped off in a high kill shelter in SC. They are such good dogs the shelter staff pleaded with us to pull them before their time was up. This is what they said...

They came in on the shy side, but are warming up quickly, really enjoy time with the volunteers, are learning to walk on leash, and seem to do well around other pups. I don’t want them to die! PLEASE help!

So we did...and now these babies are looking for new homes in the MD/DC/VA area. We are not requiring they be adopted together, but if you are looking for a fabulous duo they are a great option!

Momma Bonnie is HW positive and being treated in the next couple weeks. K-9 Lifesavers covers the cost of treatment, but it sure would be nice if she could rest in the comforts of a new furever home.

To learn more about heartworm please visit: http://pets.webmd.com/dogs/guide/heartworms-in-dogs-facts-and-myths

Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.

Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
