Adopt a Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat)

CALLING ALL SPECIAL-NEEDS-CAPABLE MOMMIES AND DADDIES…

Meet our Grigio.  He is a small, black Chihuahua mix.  This little guy is 10 years old, and requires a very special family to meet his needs.  He came to the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter from Puerto Rico on October 13.  He is a sweet and friendly boy who is quite spry for his age.  Grigio is very easy to walk and like most Chi’s, he enjoys walking in good weather.  A daily jaunt in the warmth of the great outdoors will keep this little rugrat quite content.  Of course, don’t forget the coat when it is chilly outside!

Grigio's adoption fee will be waived for qualified adopters, as this munchkin will need to be on meds for the remainder of his life (pulmonary hypertension which affects his lungs and heart).  The great news is that he has captured the heart of the Cardiologist, so Grigio will have FREE cardiologist appointments for the rest of his life.  Our handsome boy has also been exposed to TVT, which is easily transmitted from dog to dog. He is not symptomatic but Grigio would still have to be the only dog in the household, or live with other senior dogs.  This cutie just cannot catch a break!

We know this boy has needs, and on top of that he is a senior.   That being said, seniors deserve love too.  This handsome little fella wants nothing more than to give love and receive it.  He will explore with you and chill when you just want to watch a good movie.   If you rescue him, he will rescue you with the size of his heart, and the warmth of his disposition.  He is a good boy who loves attention.   We cannot say enough great things about him.

Grigio is micro-chipped and up to date on his shots.  Please come down to the shelter and ask to spend some time with this handsome boy.  He will melt your heart.
