Purr-monster, Loving, Affectionate Just like the crumbly, buttery cookie, this Shortbread will give you the warm and comfy fuzzies! When she needs your attention, she'll sometimes emit a cute little squeak -- the kind that makes your heart expand with warmth and love. And she thinks getting petted is the best! If you go a bit overboard with the pets, she'll meow to let you know you've satisfied the petting requirement - for now. While she doesn't tend to play a lot, she does play with a ball, and she occasionally enjoys standing up on her hind legs to ponder her adorable reflection in the mirror. She's usually most interested in what her human is up to! So she would be most happy in a house where her human is home a lot of the day. And once she gets used to them, she does well around mellow cats and calm dogs; she isn't interested in playing with them, but she's cool chilling out with them. Shortbread is a wobbly kitty! It is likely neurologically-related, but the reason is unknown; she could have been exposed to a toxin as a baby. She's improved a bit since she came to APA!, but we suspect she will always have a bit of a twitch. That's just the way she is, and she does great! She runs up and down stairs, loves people, and knows how to live a great life. Shortbread is currently on some medications for improvement. She uses the litter box just fine, though a tall litter box is best for her so she can lean against the side while she does her business.
