This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.
Meet Tracker!
Don't let that goofy grin or those short legs fool you - when it comes to tracking, Tracker's on it! He appears to be a Basset Hound mix somewhere between a year and a year and a half old, who is very intense when he's on to a scent - he can be distracted or redirected however. He's playful with people and with other dogs. He can be a bit hyper, and sometimes a little overbearing with new dogs. He doesn't currently reside with children, but has been playful with those he's met. He hasn't been introduced to kitties yet. He'll need house training, crate training and will need to learn to walk on a leash. We strongly recommend our dogs and their new people attend obedience classes. It's a great place for socialization, confidence building and for getting in some quality bonding time between you and your pup. Tracker is both treat and toy motivated which makes training easier. A fenced yard is the ideal safe place for following your nose and until he is leash trained this is probably a good idea. Once he's got the hang of walking on a leash, daily walks with opportunities for playing off-leash in a dog park would do just fine. Dogs of all ages benefit from mental exercise, too - think puzzle toys and games. Tracker LOVES toys, playgroup, and meeting new people. He can sometimes be a bit anxious in a new place, but definitely finds things interesting. He's always ready for action and equally happy to chill when playing's done.
Tracker was found a couple of blocks from a shelter by a volunteer. He was starving and dragging a chain. He seriously want to put all that behind him and settle down with his forever people in his forever home.
