Pit Bull Terrier (short coat) Dog

Pepper the Dog needs a home

Foster Care!

Hey Peeps, Peps here! True - my full name is Pepper, but my peeps here at PHS call me "Peps". In part because they love me wholeheartedly and in part because well, I'm a pretty unique girl. I'm big, strong, confident and focused. Some would say over-focused at times, but who doesn't have momentary fixations? Like squirrels and birds and clouds and such. If you live in a high-density squirrel area I'm probably not the girl for you cause those guys just fascinate me. I could watch squirrel videos all day (no seriously, ALL DAY). On the flip side I'm whats known as a Play Group rock star here at the shelter - I haven't met a dog yet I don't like and who doesn't like me. The staff rely on me to wear down the high energy types like myself so we all get a good nights sleep, zzz zzz. I'm not a good fit for gentle dainty dogs if you have them, as I like to rough and tumble. My other attributes are just too hard to describe in words, so you're going to have to meet me to see why I'm an absolute volunteer favorite here at the shelter. PHS is looking for experienced dog humans to adopt me so if you've had dogs in the past ask for "the Peps" and they'll take it from there!

Since I’m in foster care I’m not at the shelter, but you can make arrangements to meet me or learn more by e-mailing Samantha Lundquist at [email protected] or calling 650-340-7022 ext 418. Just ask for Pepper ID# A829440.

Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010. Our hours are weekdays from 11am-7pm and weekends from 11am-6pm (closed major holidays). Interested adopters must arrive at least 1 hour before close.

We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. It’s also typical for us to have animals who haven’t had their photos taken yet, so you are welcome to visit our adoption center and have a look around!

To check on an animal's adoption status, please call 650-340-7022 during normal business hours to speak with an adoption counselor or 650-340-7022 ext. 823 anytime to hear a recording of our available animals (updated each morning). Emails will be returned as soon as possible, but please allow up to 48 hours during busy adoption periods like weekends.
