Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Border Collie / Mixed (medium coat) Dog

Bella the Dog needs a home

Bella's perfect Bat Girl Mask on her eyes and happy, wiggly body are sure to grab your attention, but once you get to know her affectionate, fun personality...you will want this girl as part of your family.

Bella is about 8 months old, 35 pounds and absolutely a dream dog.  She is sweet and friendly to everyone she meets.  She lives with cats and dogs in her foster home and she's met a handful of small children at adoption events and was just as sweet to them as we expected her to be.  She's pretty active, as one would expect from her mix of breeds. She would really enjoy a moderately active pup to play with that's close to her size.

She will likely be a medium sized dog about 40-45 pounds as an adult.  Her black patches and freckles are so cute and she is so cuddly and playful!  She is still a puppy and hasn't been in her foster home very long, so she is still working on crate and leash training, however she is fully potty trained.  She needs a family willing to continue her efforts on those items, but also that loves snuggles and play time.

Bella was found tied to a chain link fence and alone.  Her back legs were a bit stiff and awkward at first, but she didn't seem to have any issues with mobility.  We had the vet check her out and it was decided that she was likely just fine, but we'd keep an eye on it.  As she grew a little bit over the next 8 weeks, the awkwardness didn't go away and she seemed to do things differently than the other dogs in the house, like using her front legs to climb on the couch rather than jump up with her rear.  An X-ray was taken and determined that she has a fully healed, old broken bone injury that affected the growth plate in one back leg.  It has caused that leg to be slightly shorter hence the reason for the different gait.  There is no surgical or ongoing treatment needed and she'll just have a rescue story for her new owners to share.

Bella is an absolute sweetheart, spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and healthy.  She's available for adoption and we always allow for a 2 week trial adoption period to make sure she is a perfect match before you commit to this little lady.  Please email [email protected] if Bella sounds perfect for you and you want to meet her.
