Adopt a Chihuahua / Terrier / Mixed (medium coat)

Meet Lynn.  This little lady is nearly ready for a new family of her own.  She was rescued from a high kill shelter in SC and treated for heartworm before she made her way to N. VA. 

When Lynn arrived on transport she was fearful and very timid, which is not uncommon. She needed a few days to warm up, decompress, and acclimated to change. She's been going with her foster mom to work every day to work on her socialization skills, and getting more comfortable meeting new people. Her foster mom says she that while she's still hesitant around meeting someone new, she is a very sweet, loving dog. If you give her a day or two to warm up, she is super friendly. 

Lynn is being fostered with multiple other small dogs and cats. She does fine with all the dogs. She still barks at the cats sometimes when separated from them, but walks around with them fine when they are together.  She will sometimes want to chase, but the cats in her foster home are dog savvy and know not to run, so there are no issues. Lynn would do well with dog-savvy cat who knows how to interact, but is probably not ideal for a cat who has not lived with dogs.

Lynn is crate trained and potty trained, but still working on her leash walking skills. For a little pup, she is pretty strong and will pull on leash, so she needs some practice and some basic training. Her foster mom reports that she is playful, and has the joy of a young "teen pup" so she would make a great companion for another young, playful dog.
