Hey there! My name is AJ (for Absolute Joy!)....I am a striking little girl looking for a new family.

I was being neglected by my original owner, and a family member took me to try and help. Unfortunately, I was not a good fit for them due to my energy level. They reached out for help, and I found myself with GSRA.

I am a super fun 8-9 month old. I am a petite girl, I am currently just under 50 pounds. I may get a little bit bigger, but not much. Don't let my small size discourage you, I have a ton of energy, and am very enthusiastic about life. Where's the party?? I am in! I have a very distinctive "mask", and perfect ears. I have a soft and shiny coat.

I can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once I get to know you I am very loving. I love attention and will even sleep in the bed if you will let me. If not, that's cool, I love my big fluffy dog bed as well. I am housebroken and crate trained too!

I LOVE other dogs, and will need to have an energetic and playful companion dog to help get some of my energy out. I am a typical puppy, and am curious about lots of different things. I do pretty well in the house, but do have to be crated when not supervised as I do have a tendency to try to chew and make toys out blankets and cushions. I would prefer a large fenced yard to play in, I have a blast running around and playing with my foster siblings.

I will need a home without cats, small dogs or chickens (and probably no guinea pigs, hamsters, ferrets, etc). I get way too excited about such creatures, and the voices in my head...well, lets just say I have less than good intentions...I can't help it. I think the technical term is prey drive.

I am very smart and eager to learn. I am also very food motivated!!

Oh, one more thing....my original people did not take very good care of me, and as a result I am infected with heartworms. Yuck. Fear not, the rescue says I am being treated at the beginning of March, and should be ready for my new home by mid April. Gives you plenty of time to get all the toys and beds for me!
