Turkey the Dog needs a home
Despite his goofy name, Turkey is actually quite mysterious and aloof. His piercing hazel eyes and gray tuxedo markings does give him the air of an enigmatic stranger sipping drinks along the perimeter of a fancy party. Does he notice me? Is he interested? Does he know where secret treasure is buried? But as we've gotten to know Turkey, we've seen his regular old dog self come through. He loves to play with stuffed animals and run on the trails. And don't tell anyone, but he even loves to give kisses. Turkey has also proven to be an excellent student. He's been training for the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test and recently became CGC Ready, which means he successfully passed the American Kennel Club's CGC test with his volunteer trainer! To pass the CGC test, a dog must demonstrate obedience and general reliability in real world situations. An APA CGC-ready dog knows sit and down, walks nicely on leash, will sit calmly when approached by strangers or another dog, won't approach people or dogs without permission, greets people appropriately, stays in a sit or down until told "free," and comes when called.
