Meet Jenny!

(aka Jenny Girl aka Jenny on the block)

Jenny is a very unique girl, she is a beautiful purebred German Shepherd that loves to play and explore. She is just like a lot of young dogs; goofy, playful and loving. But, what sets her aside from “normal” young dogs is that she has neurological issues due to bad breeding. Jenny has seen a neurologist at the University of Minnesota to help us better understand her genetic defects, they are confident that as she continues on with her life that she will have a happy one even with her “set backs”. Jenny’s set backs are spinning circles and she is also visually impaired. Think of the song “Cyclone” by Baby Bash, she could spin to that song as if she were dancing. Especially when Jenny gets nervous or anxious the number of spins will increase. As stated before Jenny is visually impaired, with that being said she refuses to go down stairs. She will go up them, but WILL NOT go down, her foster mom has tried many times. So please be aware that if stairs are inevitable in your home to go in and out that an 85+ pound dog being carried down them multiple times a day will get heavy.

Due to her genetic defects she does not know how to walk well on a leash, an everyday walk will be a challenge. She will never be the type of dog who will be able to go on long hikes off leash. But, she will be the type to love you as much as possible. Jenny has a routine and knows it very well. She gets stressed when her routine gets thrown off. Keeping this in mind it will take her awhile to adjust in a new home.

Jenny is shy of new people. She will avoid them a lot of them time. It takes her some time to warm up to strangers. Even with her genetic defects she has a good sense of her surroundings. She can tell when new people are around.

Jenny LOVES to play with the other dogs in her home. She is quite good at it too and is very submissive during dog playtime, even though she likes to play rough. Jenny enjoys playing with her homemade rope toy, chewing on bones for HOURS, and just cruising in the backyard running around.
