Champ the Dog needs a home
Meet Champ! This gorgeous boy has sad eyes and the story to go with them. He was picked up as a stray in Puerto Rico as a puppy, survived parvo, and lived at a shelter for two years until he was transported to NYC in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. Champ is a very special boy according to his foster mom. Like many satos, Champ is incredibly shy. He needs a very particular home, ideally one with no scary noisemakers (children) or scary city noises on his walks. He is fully housebroken (in grass), and loves his crate to a fault. He hasn’t made a peep in the two weeks he has been with his foster mom, and she is proud of his progress - he recently ate hot dog from her hand, and she even got a few kisses on the cheek! He currently coexists wonderfully with his canine foster sister, and although we haven’t seen him with cats, we are almost certain he would do just fine with them. Champ is going to make a fantastic companion for his future person. We think he might be a Vizsla mix, given his gorgeous red coat and facial features.
If you think you might have the shy dog experience and the right (quiet, calm) home for Champ in either a foster or adopter capacity, please email [email protected] or [email protected].
