Adopt a German Shepherd Dog (medium coat)
McGwire the Dog needs a home
Who is
McGwire
? He was turned in by his owner and is around six years old, but don’t let the age fool you, or the few extra pounds he carries. He can jump in the kennel to get your attention, and that’s exactly what he did in the shelter. Every time a person would get in his view, he would jump and bark to get their attention. They moved him to the back out of public viewing because he was only getting negative attention. When the shelter became full, they needed to clear out some kennels, and his number came up. Thankfully the shelter called us to rescue him before he was scheduled to leave this earth.
McGwire is the type who seems to be always thinking and on the move, so an active life for him would be good. No marathons, but no couch potato either.
Thanks to our volunteers, we were able to bring him in under cover of almost darkness. The more dogs he meets, the more he wags his beautiful tail. He is one happy and lucky boy.

The minimum adoption donation ranges from $300 to $400. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is 100% tax deductible.
Prior to placement, all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are usually microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis. Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
Our adoption process begins with completing an application on-line. A phone screening will soon follow, and lastly a home visit will be conducted by our volunteers.
We show our dogs at adoption events every weekend! Check our our website to see where we'll be next!
