Ruby is just over a year old & 50 pounds  She really enjoys playing with other active dogs and running around in a fenced yard.  Ruby is crate trained.  Kids 12 and older.  Ruby is very smart and learns quickly- she would do great in an obedience class.  More information soon to come, now accepting applications.  

Breed/Age:  Meet beautiful pup, Ruby.  She is a Red Lab mix. Ruby is about 18 months old and stands about 16 inches at the shoulder. She has a slim build and a short, gorgeous rust colored coat.

Manners: Ruby is in the process of working on her manners and has a tendency to jump on people because she so happy to see just about anyone. We are working on that in addition to working on her housebreaking.  The most important thing with her housebreaking is consistency.  She knows what it means when you take her outside and tell her to “go potty”.  She knows sit pretty well and looks so cute when she’s looking at you waiting for that treat.  She does have a tendency to grab a little and that is something we are working on also.

Activity Level:  Ruby is an active pup that loves playing with other dogs and people too.  She is fostered with 4 other dogs and gets along with all of them considering they are all much older than she is.  She LOVES the snow and being outside with the other dogs or playing fetch with her human. She settles down nicely with some exercise every day and loves being petted by anyone that will give her their time.  She has not been a big barker but will let you know when she hears someone at the door by giving a cute short hound bay.

Foster mom notes:  Ruby is an awesome pup that is looking for her forever home. Maybe with another playful dog or maybe an active person or family. She loves playing with my pit bull, Theo, until he wears out as he is 8 years old. Ruby sleeps in her crate at night with no problem and is extremely well crate trained. She loves her crate and has no problem going in there for the night. When I  go to work, she gets a special toy with treats in it that she has to work at to get them out. She only gets this special toy when I go to work.  She really likes deer antlers and nylabones too. There is also one squeaky toy that she and Theo love to play with together and they make me laugh when they pick up that toy to play with it.  Ruby is looking for that special home that will give her the unconditional love, care and patience that she deserves.  Do you have what it takes?

This dog has been fed a high quality 4 star or better dog food.  As a Rescue we recommend CANIDAE Pure for adults & puppies. This food can be found at most Pet & Feed Stores in any state. 

All puppies & dogs have had a wellness exam by a licensed Veterinarian, are healthy and come with a Certified Health Certificate (CVI).  All adult dogs have had spay or neuter surgery.  They are up to date on vaccines & heartworm testing. K9LLR puppies/dogs are also up to date on deworming and have been given Capstar, Frontline Plus/Advantix II/Revolution and or Heartworm Preventative. All dogs are groomed prior to adoption!  

The donation for this pet is $225.00.
