We welcome specific questions. Due to high volume of applications, we may not be able to respond immediately. Your patience is appreciated.
If an animal is on our website, it is still available but might have other applicants. If you find yourself interested in one of our animals, it is in your best interest to submit an application immediately. Submitting an application does not commit you to any animal, but does get you a head start with the adoption approval process.
We do not schedule meetings until you have an approved application.
As an all-volunteer, foster home based organization, ARF does not have a facility where applicants can visit our animals. The majority of our dogs and cats are brought to adoption events by our volunteers. We invite everyone to come to our events, but we must give priority to pre-approved applicants.
Female, spayed, about 2 years old (as of January 2018), microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, currently in a foster home, will be making appearances at ARF Adoption Events (see http://www.arf-il.org/events.html or https://www.facebook.com/A.R.F.Illinois for times and locations), adoption fee $110.
Marigold is a very pretty little girl with white fluffy soft fur and large orange patches with tabby stripes in them. She has a slightly shortened stubby-ended tail, which gives her a very unique look. When she first arrived at ARF via transport from a high kill shelter, she got very upset when she got a nail trim. However, since then she has been a super laid back sweet heart. Her foster mom has been able to clean her ears, give her medicine, take her to the vet for shots, and give her a bath and she took all of that in stride and never showed any bad temper. She seems to like being brushed, especially after her bath. She also seems to like just being petted and stroked while she is on a cat tree or in a bed. Once she feels secure, she begins purring up a storm. She can be a little shy, but who wouldn’t be when so much has changed in their lives so very quickly. She is getting used to having some foster sisters and has shown no aggression towards them. Please come and meet this sweet little girl. She deserves to find her forever home soon so she can live happily ever after.
