Currently Living at: A scary shelter in SC! Foxy will need a foster or forever home when she arrives to DC.

Meet Foxy! This beautiful and sweet girl is a 3 year old pointer/terrier mix, weighing in at approximately 30 pounds. She is GORGEOUS with a beautiful coat and a fun black spot on her face! You can't help but want to hug her as soon as you see her! Foxy found herself at the shelter through no fault of her own and is looking for a forever family to give her the love and attention she deserves! Could it be yours?

At three years old, Foxy is past the crazy puppy years but is still a young adult! She will need both mental and physical stimulation on a daily basis to keep her happy and healthy. An adopter who works full time would need to commit to having a midday dog walker or day care for him during the week. She would love to go on long walks, hikes, and take trips to the dog park so she can socialize with her canine friends. And of course, upon returning home, she'd love to shower her new forever family with tons of kisses and cuddles!

Foxy gets along great with other dogs so she'd be a great addition to an existing pack, or would be happy soaking up all of the love and attention for herself! We haven't had a chance to see ger interact with cats or kids yet. If you have them, let us know, and we'll do our best to find out! Foxy is also looking forward to attending obedience school to work on her doggie manners and impress her new family.

Foxy will make a GREAT companion and family member; you won’t regret opening your heart and home to this sweet girl!

Like most shelter dogs, Foxy may need a refresher on housetraining. She is likely crate trained.

Foxy has tested positive and been treated for for Heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites.  Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative.

The adoption fee for this dog is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Lauren at [email protected]!
