Adopt a Tortoiseshell (short coat)

Sophie, DOB 11/29/09, is a 6 year old Tortie girl with Black and Brown fur.  She loves playing with toys, cuddling, following and talking to you.  She likes laying on or right next to you and will give lots of kisses.  She enjoys playing with tunnels, feathery toys and toys filled with catnip.  Her favorite thing to do during the day is to sit in the window, get some sun and sleep in & on blankets.  She appreciates a nice bed to sleep in and will even show off her blanket dances when I am getting ready to go to bed.  

When she really wants some attention, she will walk right up to you and climb right into your arms for some extra cuddles.

She has been through quite a bit in her short life, she was adopted with her brother Charlie when they were kittens, but unfortunately the family came into financial problems and returned them to Cat Matchers.  She was then adopted out separately, without her brother, and last year her new owner left her in the apartment they lived in when he moved away leaving her behind.  A maintenence worker found her, brought her to his vet, where they found she had a microchip registered to Cat Matchers. After losing her home, being separated from her brother & being abandoned, she was under a significant amount of stress and almost died.   

Rather than being saddened by the cards she has been dealt, she is a very loving sweet girl that is looking for her forever home where she can continue to be loved and cared for.  Although she is not a huge fan of being picked or having her paws touched, she will come running quickly when called. She isn't a fan of sharing her food or favorite blanket spots.  She will be most happy in a home that is calm & where there isn’t much competition for food or love.

She has lived in a home with children.

Sophie is spayed, microchipped, tested negative for Feline Aids and Leukemia and current on vaccinations.
