Friendly, Inquisitive, Loves to be loved! Richard Burton is a special kitty! Richard is not only a female, but also orange! About 80% of orange cats are male. She was found hanging out with an outdoor feral cat community, nursing a kitty cold just as the January freeze was setting in. A kind foster took her in to nurse her back to health, and discovered that Richard is not at all feral. In fact, she's super-friendly and affectionate, and clearly knows how to live in a home with people. Richard delights in your touch and loves having her belly rubbed. She's not a lap-sitter, but will sit next to you and doze off. When she sees you, she'll run up to you and flop over on her back, begging for tummy rubs! You'll love stroking her luxuriously soft, velvety fur and gazing into her sweet little face. Richard loves to play, too. She's particularly fond of a crinkly toy with feathers on it. She will toss it around and chase it for hours! She is very interested in making friends with her foster's cat, but sadly that cat isn't having it. We think Richard would be a wonderful companion to any cat who was open to a new friendship. Richard does seem very fearful of her foster's dog. We haven't seen her with kids. She does use her claws and teeth when playing, and gives the occasional love bite, so she may not be a great fit for kids. She's fairly vocal, and will definitely let you know when she needs some snuggles! Richard would do well in any home where she gets plenty of love and attention. She'd be a great only pet, but would also do well with the right kitty friends. She's a great balance of playful and relaxed. She's clearly so grateful to be in a home again, and would be beyond ecstatic to find her new forever family.
