Trouble the Cat needs a home
Trouble is a male kitten, probably born mid-September 2016. His mom is Lucy and his siblings are Penelope, Jax, and Toby. The kittens were born outside in a trailer park and Lucy was a very young mom, so she struggled to provide for them. She's very tame, but the kittens had to learn to trust humans.
His siblings adapted to living with humans pretty easily, but little Trouble is still not so sure that everyone will be kind. We are working extra hard to reassure him that he is safe and loved. He will let us pet him if we approach slowly (and he's starting to lean into caresses), but he'll hiss and run away if people move too fast or are too noisy. He shows us his "airplane ears" but that just for show. Thirty seconds of face rubs and those ears pop right up into happy-cat position. With familiar volunteers, he will roll around trying to get his back petted, so we know he's capable of trust, it just takes time. Even though he does well with familiar volunteers, Trouble is still a little spooky around strangers. For that reason he's not a great candidate for a family with young children, but he would probably do really well with a calm, nurturing older cat friend. He just needs a little more time and patience while he learns to come out of his shell.
