Adopt a Miniature Schnauzer / Whippet / Mixed (medium coat)

Stevie here. I am a Schnauzer/ Whippet mix boy around 3 Yrs. Old and 22 pounds. I have long legs and a svelte body and that's why my foster thinks I've got whippet in me! 

I sure was a mess at the shelter, I was super skinny, I had demox mange (non contagious) and was losing my beautiful coat, I had an ear infection and an eye infection too.  Everyone walked by my cage and didn't give me a second look.  To top it off I was really scared too. I didn't stand much of chance of being adopted.  Then Underdog came to save me! 

Now I'm in Portland in a loving foster home. I'm healthy and happy now! I'm learning to trust people, and I within just a few weeks, I'm doing so great!  

I'm really a funny, loving boy and I just love to play with my foster mama. I love to snuggle and I have a great appetite and I'm treat motivated for sure! I've learned basic commands,  and I'm a champ walking on a leash and I'm completely non reactive to other dogs or people I see, plus! I'm potty trained as long as you keep me on a good schedule. I sleep really well in my crate and I don't make a sound at night.   I'd do best in a home without small kids.  I'm learning to trust dogs as long as they aren't too high energy, but its a work in progress right now, and I met a cat and I sure don't know what they are but I know I'd be okay with them once I understood them. If they run - right now I want to chase them, but if they are sitting quiet I get bored and walk away.  I'm working on some separation anxiety now, so if you are gone long days, right now, I wouldn't do well with that lifestyle.  Everyday I get more confident and I can be left for longer periods of time, but I'm still not too sure if you will return, so I'm working on it. I still have a few kinks to work out, so you should be local so you could work with me and my foster mom with my transition.  It takes me a bit of time to trust people if she's not around.   I do know I'm going to make someone a very loyal and loving companion soon.
