BARN CATS! OUTDOOR CATS! the Cat needs a home
Cats Available:
• Feral cats: These cats come to BCAS in droves and have no other option but to be adopted out to barns or colonies. Most feral cats do not make it out of most shelters alive, but we are trying to fix that! These cats are largely self-sufficient, and only require a minimal amount of care from you.
• Friendly/Independent cats: These cats are typically difficult to find homes for. They're independent, or moody, or just really hate to be indoors. Some of them may have litterbox issues or other behavioral quirks. Whatever the cause, they need alternate placement!
Barn cats make for great poison-free rodent and pest control! The presence of healthy, fixed cats can also help keep unfixed, unhealthy cats away from your property.
Barn/outdoor cats will only be adopted out to people who can provide:
- safe shelter from the elements
- fresh food and water every day
- veterinary care when necessary
BCAS provides the following medical care prior to adoption:
- spay/neuter
- tested for FIV and FeLV
- vaccinated for distemper (FVRCP)
- vaccinated for rabies
- treated for fleas, if applicable
- deworming (friendly cats only)
