Adopt a Italian Greyhound (short coat)
Simka the Dog needs a home
Simka could easily be named “Sweetie” because she has a very sweet personality and is somewhat feisty. She is small, completely blind and toothless. She has some arthritis but is otherwise healthy for a puppy mill dog. Simka is surprisingly strong for being so small and wiry. Simka may look fragile, but will run and stretch when she feels safe in her environment. It is a joy to see her happy in her environment. For such a small dog, Simka loves food and gets excited when it’s time to eat. Since she’s toothless she eats wet food and kibble that’s been softened, and loves a good meal. Simka has excellent potty habits. Although she doesn’t let on when she needs to go, once on a schedule it’s easy to learn her habits. She does very well with an extra large piddle pad when necessary. A leash is used when Simka is taken out to her business, and is currently carried up and down steps. She walks fine with a lead but you have to be her eyes so she doesn’t run into things. With time, she may be able to be accustomed to her surroundings. Unlike most Italian Greyhounds, Simka does not burrow into blankets, and wears clothes to stay warm. She doesn’t mind wardrobe changes, and is very even-keeled while being handled. Simka loves napping, and her foster Mom has never heard her bark. Simka is very sweet, and does not appear to be affected by other dogs or cats. She does not show any signs of aggression against other household pets. Overall, a calm household is ideal for Simka and Brandi to settle in with their forever family.
