Liz- McDowell the Dog needs a home
Hi I'm Liz, or "Mama Liz" as some people call me! I am a very sweet and social 3 year old girl and I'm hunting for my forever home! Speaking of hunting, my BWAR family is pretty sure I used to be used as a "hunting" dog, and was discarded when I was no longer needed. I was dumped at a kill shelter when I was pregnant, and gave birth to 7 beautiful babies in the shelter. A wonderful family offered to foster all of us and that's where I've been lucky enough to live the last few months. My kiddos are all off on their own now, and it's finally my turn to get all the love. I am an energetic and spunky girl, and I would be so happy to have a home where I've got space to run! I do well with other dogs and I don't think I'd mind at all living with another dog. My hunting instincts do drive me to bellow and run after cats, however. Once the cat in my foster home stood his ground and didn't run from me, I gave up the chase :). Now we are friends, so there is hope that I could have a kitty friend one day too!
One sad thing is that my friends discovered I have what's called a "mammary tumor", probably from years of being bred and having puppies and not getting spayed. The good news is it's a pretty easy surgery to fix and I am finally just about ready to get that done. But guess what? That shouldn't stop you from letting me come home with you! If you're interested in adding me to your family, I can come home with you any time while I finish up my medical care. It's not as scary as it sounds, I promise. I'm so excited to meet my forever family and start getting settled into my new life.
