Hi everyone, my name is Raja and I’m 1.5 years old. I was surrendered to a shelter because my owner had too many animals and couldn’t care for all of us anymore. I was so afraid in the shelter that I completely stopped eating and drinking and spent all of my time hiding. I had to be treated for anorexia and dehydration while at the shelter because of this. Due to the fact that I was very shutdown and scared at the shelter, I needed to find a rescue to give me a second chance at life before my time ran out there. Thankfully Ruff Start & my foster mom came to my rescue! I was very traumatized from my time at the shelter so when I got to my foster home I preferred to hide for the first week I was here. Now, I am absolutely loving life. I learned that the people here want to help me and that I should let them. Once I am comfortable in my environment I am very friendly with other cats, I just need time to not be scared. I also love playing with toys and eating wet food. My foster mom tells me I’m so handsome and she is very proud of all the improvements I’ve made since being in her home. I don’t have a ton of energy or need very much attention, I am a very laid-back guy who loves to snuggle and be pet. I am very friendly and would do great in a home with kids. All Ruff Start dogs and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention (dogs) as well as heartworm tested (dogs).

Ruff Start Rescue is a foster based rescue. Animals are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a facility where animals are kept.
