Adopt a Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat)

Well hello there. Do you have treats?? Do you want to snuggle me?? I could always use some love :) My name is Rusty and I look like a cute little fox. My rescue friends think I am a chihuahua/fox terrier, all I know is that I am cute and that is all that matters to me. After a long day of playing I love to snuggle up to my humans and sleep in their arms, until I see a cat. Cats are strange creatures, they look like dogs but are way different. They sure do make for good chase friends though, they can run super fast and I haven't been able to catch one yet but I got close!! The cat creature makes a weird sound so I don't think they like me very much :'(. I love to be outside in the sunshine and enjoy my walks. Walks are second best in the world, only after playing with my other small dog friends. I have so much energy that I don't know how I can keep it contained in my small body, but that could be why I play so often and I am just over 1 year old. I am learning to go potty outside but sometimes its easier to go inside, the humans have a special room to do their business inside. Once you learn my ques and if you let me out often I shouldn't have any accidents in the house. Please tell my rescue about your family and why you think I would be a good fit in your family. I need mandatory force-free obedience training and a very secure, fenced yard to keep me safe as I can jump pretty high for my size. We are an Edmonton Region rescue and adopt out only in this area. HOUSE TRAINING: I am still having accidents as I dont know how to tell so if you don't pay attention things happen. Shedding - YES OBEDIENCE TRAINING: Obedience training classes are mandatory with our rescue. Ask about our list of recommended trainers. FENCED YARD: A Secure Fenced yard is a must! RECOMMENDED BUILDING TYPE: House CHILDREN: No children under 10 CATS: NO VETTING COMPLETED: Neutered, Vaccinated with DHPP, Rabies Vaccine, Dewormed X2 with Drontal Plus , Nexguard for Fleas and ticks, Microchipped (EIDAP), Heartworm tested negative results, Heartworm injection Proheart 6 injection to protect against Heartworms for 6 months. ADOPTION FEE: $500.00 includes all the vetting, transport costs and care/supplies we have done for the dog.  Our process for adopting: Please email us at [email protected] to request an adoption application which will be emailed to you. We are not a shelter we are a foster home placement rescue and we place our rescues in foster care until a permanent forever family is matched. We hold meet and greets at Pet store locations and we DO NOT adopt out on-site at our events. We require a filled adoption application and home visit plus reference checks before adopting out our rescues in care! We don't do first come first served we match best fit for the dog in care.
