Adopt a Boxer (short coat)
Dorothy the Dog needs a home
Dorothy is a senior Boxer girl, around 8 years old. She was first rescued from a shelter in Central California, then adopted. Unfortunately, the adopter lost his job, unable to care for her, and she was returned to rescue with a tumor on her left hind foot bigger than a golf ball, along with a tumor on her tail. The tumor on the tail was a benign cyst, but one on her foot was a mast cell tumor. She went through surgery with a toe removal. We thought her cancer may come back, but so far it's been a year and she seems to have no other tumors.
Dorothy is a sweet girl, GREAT with children and babies. She can get along with a large male dog that is fairly mellow, but it takes very slow introduction. Once she likes a dog, she is best friends with them. Dorothy is looking for a forever home or a foster home willing to care for her for the rest of her life. Won't you open up your home and your heart for a sweet senior girl?
If you are interested in adopting or finding more information about Dorothy or our other dogs, please read about our adoption process and fill out the application. Once the application is received our volunteer will contact you: http://www.westcoastboxerrescue.org/adopt/. Thank you for considering rescue dogs, and we look forward to working with you.
