Sugar the Dog needs a home
Meet Sugar!
Sugar is a 2-3 year old Pit Bull terrier mix who weighs approximately 55lbs.
Sugar was initially seized in an abuse case - she was skin in bones, was riddled with disease and infection, and pregnant with puppies that were due any minute! Sugar had her puppies in the care of Animal Control. She was a GREAT momma but had trouble trusting new humans (can you blame her?).
Fast forward 3 months and Sugar is in a foster home with 6 other dogs that she gets along with beautifully. She LOVES to wrestle and play tug-of-war with her furry friends. She has medium energy levels and would make a great running partner or a couch potato! While Sugar LOVES new humans now, she is not a kisser/cuddler/jumper/affection seeker; Sugar is slightly more aloof than your average silly pup, but she also isn't underfoot 24/7. Sugar is crate and house trained; she knows basic commands and is working on proper leash manners.
Though she came from horrible beginnings, Sugar now has a clean bill of health, a happy heart, and is ready for a new beginning!

***Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers and we require a home check for each of our adoptable pets prior to them going to their new homes, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family further than 60 miles from Charlotte is responsible for finding a representative of a rescue local to them that is willing to perform the home check. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to meet/pick up the pet as soon as the application is approved.***
