Adopt a Beagle / Mixed (short coat)
Esme the Dog needs a home
Esme is a wonderful girl who prior to coming to Brother Wolf, lived he life as an outside hunting dog in a pack of beagles. Having had a taste of the indoor life, Esme has decided that she prefers the indoor life and being part of a family to her previous life as an outdoor hunting dog.
Almost immediately Esme has fallen into a routine of what it is like to be a part of a family. She gets along great with the dogs and cats in the home and we imagine she would be fine with kids, too, as she doesn't have a mean bone in her body. Esme learned to use our doggie door on day one and has not had an accident in the house since then. She also really enjoys walking and hiking with us and our pack. True to beagle nature, however, Esme does need a fenced in yard or to be adopted by a responsible guardian who will commit to keeping her on leash. We feel that Esme would do best in a home with at least one other social dog.
As beagles tend to be vocal sometimes, and Esme is no different, she would absolutely do best in a home environment and not an apt/condo scenario.
As you can see from the pictures, Esme has double "cherry eye" and has an appointment to have them fixed later this week.
If you are interested in Esme, please fill out the online application and then email her foster mom, Denise, at [email protected]. She will make a great addition to your family!
