Roger is a short-haired black cat with special needs (diabetic) and unique charm; he’s a loving, playful sweetheart who suffered terrible neglect and mistreatment before rescue but is now a delightful companion.
When Roger Le Chat Noir (the Black Cat) was rescued, his throat was scarred from being cut, his ears were crinkled, and he was frightened. Like the Velveteen Rabbit, he had to undergo a transformation in order to become a “real” cat. He
didn’t even know how to play; all his prior life was about survival. NOW Roger plays and purrs and talks to you. He loves to lap sit, get brushed, sleep in his double-wide scratching box, watch TV, look out the window and play with his toys. He doesn’t mind getting insulin shots and is always cooperative. He looks exactly like a famous black cat poster. He has amazing gold eyes. Roger is the ultimate survivor and now he needs to be in a real home with people who will cherish him.
An ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE can be downloaded by entering our website www.thecatnetwork.org and sending it to the foster parent.
The Cat Network does not have a shelter; all of our cats/kittens are in foster homes in South Florida. Our adoption fee is $75 for cats that are not microchipped, and $85 for microchipped cats, which includes deworming, age appropriate vaccination, and testing for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. Note: ADOPTION FEE for PUREBRED type cats, with or without papers, ranges from $75 - $250, and is determined by the foster parent. These cats are designated with "Higher adoption fee may apply" on their web listing.
All kittens and cats 3 months and older have been spayed or neutered; many of the younger kittens will be sterilized prior to adoption as well.
