Adopt a Husky / Mixed (medium coat)

After seeing a "red alert" post on Facebook about a mangy Husky on "death row" in the Houston area with no one even attempting to stand up for this poor baby who’d obviously been through a lot, God's Creation took action! We called the number and with just one hour left before the euthanasia was set to end his life, we saved him and set up transport for this boy who is now known as Maliki.

When we met the transport, Maliki reeked of infection and was filthy and itchy, but he was also the sweetest boy! He insisted on riding up front so he got tethered rather than crated as we felt so sorry for this very underweight, nearly hairless Husky. Immediately we made a vet appointment where we discovered he had nearly every parasite possible, his was skin covered in a bacterial infection caused from a horrible flea infestation, and sure enough he was way underweight..

Maliki wasn’t healthy enough to undergo a heartworm treatment yet, so we got to work putting weight on him. He was groomed and given a skin bath followed by regular antibacterial baths, regular brushing, and loads of love! He learned quickly that he had human friends here and he enjoys his dog friends as well.

Since then Maliki has been treated for heartworms and is now clear - he is parasite free and loving life! He is healthy and very happy! His coat is full and he once again has a gorgeous full tail. He’s talkative and loves to be loved on. He really loves to run and play with his dog friends. Maliki can not be trusted at all around cats though. He is highly intelligent and can and will trick you, LOL. However he is great with other dogs. Maliki is crate trained and well behaved on leash. He is an all-around well-mannered boy.
