Domestic Medium Hair / Tortoiseshell (medium coat) Cat

Etta the Cat needs a home

Etta is a darling medium-haired tortie beauty with an all-too-common story.  She was found as a stray living on the city streets when she was about 7-8 weeks old; she was most likely dumped by someone as there was no sign of a momma cat or siblings.  Fortunately, a fellow rescuer heard about her plight and rushed to save and bring her to Heartland before tragedy could occur.  It's quite amazing that she was able to survive as long as she did being so young, but we are just glad that we could help her.  Etta has really silky fur and stunning markings; she is quite the pretty girl.  Considering her background, it's no surprise that she's a bit shy and takes time to warm up to new surroundings and people.  She enjoys petting and will raise her back for some good scratches, but she's not fond of being held as she doesn't feel secure.  She prefers to seek attention on her own terms, but when she's in the mood for affection, she soaks it up and purrs non-stop.  Her timid nature just makes her a bit unsure about her surroundings sometimes, so a quiet home and a family who will give her time to settle in at her own pace would be ideal.  In return, once she builds trust with you, she will reward you with her sweet nuzzles and purrs.  She loves other cats and seeks comfort from them, so having a kitty companion or two is a must.  Older or no children is preferred, although she may adjust to a cat-friendly dog once properly introduced.  Etta is super playful and loves to chase toys, catch feather sticks and run/wrestle with her kitty friends.  She is spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations and negative for FeLV/FIV - DOB 5/21/17 (tag # 10682JB).
