Adopt a Shepherd / Mixed (long coat)

Mason is a very handsome shepherd mix with a huge heart for all.  His coat is absolutely gorgeous and compliments his gentle personality.  He's about 2 1/2 years old and landed in rescue with an unknown history, but scared of everything he encountered.  He's been living with his trainer and has made so much progress.  He has really blossomed with all of the exercises and exposure that he's gotten during training. 

This sweet boy loves cats, other dogs, older children and all adults that are friendly and will show him affection.  He needs a home with a family that will continue showing him that the world is not a scary place and he will always be treated with kindness.  He is still a little insecure with meeting new people, but with a confident and trusted person by his side, he will always do his best to be brave.

Mason walks nicely on a leash and gets along with other dogs, but can be intimidated very easily by very dominant, jumpy or aggressive dogs.  He would be a great playmate to another dog, so one that is well behaved and models appropriate behaviors would be best because he is still learning from those around him.  He loves to explore using his nose and this helps him to become more comfortable with everything he's learning.  

Playing ball and fetch always get Mason into a playful, happy mood.  He will play as long as his person is willing.  He also is enjoys running alongside the bicycle when his trainer is riding.  He is definitely a dog that shows his thoughts in his actions, such as "Squirrel!" and he chases it.  He's fun and silly.

Mason is neutered, crate trained and up to date on vaccinations.  He's a gentle soul in a big body.  He needs a teacher, a friend and a protector.  If you are that person, please email us at [email protected] so this young man can begin living his happily ever after.
