Adopt a Tortoiseshell / Tabby / Mixed (short coat)
Belle the Cat needs a home
She is still very iffy about people, but she loves to hang out and watch you while your in the room, she no longer darts off and hides, she just hangs out. She is making slow progress, but is doing AMAZING! She will need to go to a home that is patient with her and that is going to give her the space and time that she needs to adjust to a new environment. Belle does EXCELLENT with other cats and is okay to go to a home with older children as they will understand what Belle will need. Please note: She can't get adopted into a home with dogs. Sadly, this just is not going to work with Belle and her sister Amelia so we have decided to adopt them out into a home with no dogs.
Belle is a great cat, she and her sister just need to find that special home that is going to love them for who they are.
1/11- Belle is doing great, she is eating, drinking, playing with her sister Amelia when we arent around. She is on a urinary diet food now since her sister Amelia needs to be on this for life, this is not an issue for her and will actually be a good thing for Belle. She is still very shy and will need some time to adjust to a new family and home. I believe with the right home, family and people we can get Belle to really open up and become a happy indoor cat she was meant to be! She and her sister have had a tough time the last 2 years and didnt adjust to their adoptive environments hense why they came back after 2 years. Please don't let this detur you from applying for this beautiful cat! Her and her sister Amelia have not had ANY issues using the litter box since they have been in foster care, they both have been adjusting really well. She loves the lazer pointer and will chase it all around the intake cage along with her sister. We are just looking for that special family to come along and adopt amelia and belle together!
12/26- HUGE IMPROVEMENTS! Belle is no longer aggressive towards us when we go in to clean out her cage. She is stilll very shy and super attentitive to what you are doing but she calms down a lot faster now. She does not try to bolt every time we go into the foster room. She is 100 % using the litter box and is on a urinary diet food, like her sister. She did not have any UTI issues or box issues on intake. She loves her food, her sister Amelia and really seems to enjoy watching the other fosters book it from side to side of our foster room. She really has made huge steps in progress with us and we are now ready to put her and her sister, Amelia up for adoption!
Belle and Amelia have not had the easiest life in their short time here. 2 years old and had been adopted in 2015, only to have been returned because little progress was made in socializing her. We know that with the right family and with the right amount of time she will be a great indoor cat (its all she has ever really known). She just needs those special people to come along for her and her sister and allow her to be the cat she is!
I am willing to drive her and her sister within an hour and a halfs drive if the right home was to come around, normally we dont go outside an hour, but for these two girls, I will. They deserve the best home.
11/28- no progress has been made with Belle, she is still hissing and swatting at us like she has never been socialzed before.
She is eating, drinking and moving around the crate when we are not around. She is also using the litter box consistanly. No issues with box what so ever.
We will continue to keep working with Belle. She does not like dogs! She must go to a home without dogs around. Does do okay with other cats (has not fully interacted with the other foster in the room yet) but she does not hiss at them. She and amelia are VERY bonded. Must be adopted together at this point.
RETURNED!!
11/15/17- Belle was returned today with her sister Amelia, at no fault of their own.
Belle is very shy and more of a likes to do her own thing type. She is going to need to be with a family who is going to give her time and such to adjust. She should not go to a home with dogs, she is terrified of them. She is okay with other cats. We are going to be wanting to keep belle with her sister, Amelia as they have been together for 2 years now.
They are current on all vaccinations and are already spayed.
___________________________________________________________________________
10/30/15- Belle has taken great strides this past week and she is now ready for applications! She is more relaxed than the other 3 kittens from her litter. She is cuddly and a bit more shy than the others. She would be awesome with one of her littermates or another young cat already in the home. She has beautiful coloring just like her sister and is super cute. She likes to play every now and then but is more on the reserved side. This could change later as she gets older. She is approx 3 months of age and small.
INTAKE 10/15-
Belle is 1 of the 4 kittens saved out of the poconos. She is negative for FIV/FELV, dewormed and up to date on shots. He is eating, drinking and using the litter box!
She should be adopted with one of her litter mates or with another young kitten, as she will need the playmate.
