So far we know that Eddie is about 6, 7y and weighs about 18lbs so a bit big for his breed mix but that's just it--we don't know what his Pap side is mixed with--maybe long haired Chi chi or Pommy?!  He's up in RI and getting used to winter, loves his new dog and cat friends, and just chilling.  Foster mom says he's a huge kisser!

We believe him to be a Pomeranian/Chi mix, approximately 7 years old, house trained and ready to find his forever home!

 

Somehow this little guy wound up in a high kill shelter and nobody came to claim him. He was quite scared in the shelter but is settling nicely into his foster home in RI. He loves to be with people, and will let you know when he is feeling uncomfortable or scared, but most importantly, he's learning that he does not have to be afraid anymore – life is good!

Eddie arrived weighing 18lbs, almost twice what he should be, but has already lost almost 3 now that he is on a healthy diet and walking regularly. He loves to play with toys, ignores the resident cat, and gets along with his four canine foster siblings, though he at times will try to test the waters and take charge or guard his things. He loves healthy treats so training and rewarding his good behavior is a breeze.


His favorite place to be is sitting on your lap or curling up next to you on the couch, and giving kisses. Oh and he loves to be warm and tunnel under blankets! In fact, when its bedtime his foster momma tucks him in – it’s quite an endearing ritual!


We feel Eddie would do best in a home without young kids, both due to his size and the fact that the fast movements and loud noises of little ones may make him nervous.

Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on on Sundays and sometimes on Saturdays--please ask by writing us at [email protected] and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application by Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.

 

Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate!

If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us [email protected] closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Sundays usually and some Saturdays.  Follow us on FB for latest updates. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered.
