Henry the Dog needs a home

Hi, my name is Henry and I'm a curious, goofy guy who's ready to find my forever home! I'm about 4 years old and was found as a stray. I'm pretty underweight, but I'm working on putting on some pounds. I'm incredibly lovable and want to spend as much time around people as I possibly can, curling up next to them on the bed/couch whenever possible. I’ll steal your heart with my big, floppy ears and sweet demeanor. I'm also very dog-friendly and love to play with friends. I’m good in the car and like to follow scents in true hound fashion. I don't love being in my crate and have a little bit of separation anxiety whenever my foster mom leaves, but we're working on that. The good news is I’m potty-trained — the other day, I even grabbed my leash and brought it to my foster mom to tell her I wanted to go outside! I'm pretty good on the leash, though I'm still working on basic commands. I'm a very well-behaved pup -- I can be playful, but I'm not too jumpy or high energy.

I've been told that I'm heartworm positive, but I'm getting all the meds I need and will be back to 100% in no time. I am eligible for Hope Animal Rescue's "foster-to-adopt" program, where I can be "fostered" by my future family until I finish treatment at the doctor and officially become adopted. Hope pays for all the care until I am finished with my treatment, but you get to enjoy my company!
