Effie the Dog needs a home
Effie is a one-year-old, 25lb female mixed breed dog brought to Canada from Greece earlier this summer. She’s a fun-loving, enthusiastic little dog, ready for a long hike, a snuggle and loves training games! She’d excel in an active but stable home looking for a companion for hiking, training, games and lots of love. Effie needs a quiet, stable home without kids, and a family that can accommodate separation issues. This means working through a specific training protocol to help her learn to be comfortable alone, and being able to accommodate her need not to be alone until this training is complete. Effie is also frightened of new people and will need help learning to trust that new people aren’t going to harm her. This also means she needs a home in a low-density area where she won’t be overwhelmed by people coming at her from every direction. A suburban home would he lovely for sweet girl Effie. Effie likes other dogs and would love to live with a friendly companion. She is currently fostered with a cat but gets too excited and stimulated when interacting with the cat (and is starting to chase the friendly feline) so we feel that perhaps a home without a cat might be best. Effie is housetrained, has lots of energy for trail walks and playing and is crate-trained.
