This handsome fellow is Finn! He is a 2 year old neutered male Labrador who is fully grown weighing in around 65#. Finn is a sweet boy who gets along with everyone in his foster home. He can be found playing and running around UNLESS he can come and sit by a person! He LIVES to please the people around him. He knows his sit command, and takes treats like a gentleman. Finn is kennel trained, and also potty trained with the aid of a doggie door. It would be short work to get him accustomed to his new house rules. Finn can be a bit on the pushy side when it comes to food, so we suggest he is fed in a kennel or separate from his house mates. He does not get upset when PEOPLE get into his food, only the other dogs. 


Finn's adoption fee is $250 and goes to cover the vetting he has received. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, dewormed and microchipped. He has tested positive for heart worms, however he has been started on the slow kill method of treatment and is doing well! We will include medications to administered at home to continue treatment. SASPCA Homeward Bound Dog Rescue and San Antonio Great Dane Rescue are 501(c)(3) foster-based rescue groups based in San Antonio, Texas. 

 

Our group focuses on assisting open admission shelters in South Texas where over 32,000 dogs and cats are euthanized each year.

 


Our puppies and dogs are completely vetted and live in foster homes. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and tested for heartworm disease.

All adoptions include one month of flea and heartworm preventative, leash and collar, and a 30-day trial of 24PetWatch Pet Insurance. 

Adopters will also receive a Petco Pet Parent Savings Books that contain:

• $100s in savings plus a coupon for a free 6 lb. bag of WholeHearted dog food.

• Thoughtful care tips.

• Online resources and support.

 


 

Our adoption events are held each Saturday at Petco located in the Northwoods Shopping Center at 18138 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio, TX 78232.  Event hours are typically 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

If your adoption application is approved and you are traveling from out-of-town, we hold your chosen pet for one hour past the event start time to allow for travel time.

 

We do try to schedule bi-monthly meet-and-greets in Austin as interested is generated.

 


 

We are an all-volunteer organization and do not currently have the resources to process out-of-state adoptions.

 


 

Our puppies, purebred dogs, and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so we encourage interested parties to apply online.
