DOG'S DESCRIPTION
This adorable guy is super sweet. His previous owners neglected to give him monthly heartworm (HW) medication so he's now HW+. K-9 covers the cost of treatment, but it sure would be nice if he could be in a furever home to recover in comfort and love. Chipper would love a new home where he could be the center of your attention and would prefer to be the only dog.
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (for dogs over 6 months old), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets.
