If there was a prize for Best Snuggles, then our super-cute and cuddly Ziva would be Grand Champion.  Ziva is a 4.5 years old Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix that currently weighs ~10 lbs, and who sees everyone as her new best friend.  Her favorite thing is to snuggle up and take a nap, particularly after a meal.  She needs to lose a pound, so she will need smaller meals, fewer snacks and mild exercise.   Ziva is house trained, good on a leash, good in the car, well-mannered and mellow, and as quiet, loving and sweet dog you could hope to meet.  She is respectful with the foster's cat, and good with kids 6 yo and up who understand to be gentle and careful due to her small size.

Ziva arrived at the shelter with a very neglected matted coat which led to a pretty choppy medical haircut.  The super-short makeover haircut will grow into a wavy Pom-Chi coat that will require regular brushing. Ziva has an old injury on her back right leg which means her paw is slightly turned out, but it is long healed and not painful and she does a joyful prance and dance for meals. She doesn't have a big leap, and will need a lift or step to get up in a chair or the couch (her favorite habitat). Ziva also came into the shelter with some nasty eye infections.  Our rescue vet says Ziva does show some tear production, but she will still need eye medication & artificial tear drops daily to be comfortable & clear eyed in our dry climate.

Ziva is would be a great dog for anyone wanting a honey-sweet & easy-going little dog who knows how to be good company.  Ziva is spayed, up-to-date on shots, microchipped, and has received eye care and a dental.  Ziva's adoption fee is $250 which helps the rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies.

All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.

We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience.  To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information.

All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog.

Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home.
